Putting Your Safety First

At Lifting Gear Hire we make safety our first priority and wanted to celebrate National Safety Month by sharing our rigorous safety standards. Our first step to ensure safety is to look at our internal practices. Each year we carry out an internal audit at each distribution center that looks at every aspect from operations to administrative practices. We also have an independent auditor from Technical Management Team review our workshop practices, equipment, maintenance, personnel efficiency, and of course safety.

 

In addition to our audits we also conduct a series of staff training sessions, both in-house and with our suppliers to educate our employees about the latest safety standards, providing training, and find areas of improvement to help us not only promote a safe workplace as well as the safe use of our equipment.

 

And finally, we rigorously test our equipment to ensure that it is ready to use on its next job. We have two pieces of safety equipment, a 125,000lb dynamic vertical proof testing machine and a 300,000lb dynamic horizontal proof test machine that allows us to test hoists, slings, shackles, and winches. This allows us to test each piece of equipment to the specifications of the job which allows us to guarantee that the equipment will be able to handle the job.
